  THE COOPERATIVE, DECENTRALIZED SOCIETY ADVOCATE

this web page is no longer maintained click here for newer version 4.0

I prefer cooperation to competition, since the latter can bring out the worst in people. I prefer locally controlled economic arrangements involving a mixture of cooperative, employee-owned, and private businesses. I like voluntary, democratic organizations in which people join hands in promoting community, common good, and self reliance. I prefer decentralized economic or government structures, since they can better respond to local needs. I dislike big, authoritarian, centralized corporate or government structures. Instead, I think that, while planning can involve a whole bioregion, power and decision making should diffuse down to the lowest level possible, ideally to community, neighborhood, individual -- and all would participate.
