#33A SERVITUDE

this web page is no longer maintained click here for newer version 4.0

I have something in common with lots of other people, something I’m not pleased with: my freedom, and the control I can exercise over my  life, is severely limited. While we are all rather powerless, the cause of this condition may be quite different: extreme poverty, massive debt, harsh environmental conditions, ignorance, prejudice against us, disability, the authority of some dominating individual who exploits us, dogmatic beliefs, imprisonment, restrictions imposed by an authoritarian government, etc.

Alternate Concise Characterization with Wikipedia Entries:

I am a soldier, not something I freely chose / Conscription

I am a victim of my own poverty and debt (bondage)

I am a prisoner / Incarceration

I am essentially a slave, a victim of Human Trafficking

summary Wikipedia article: Unfree Labor
